FAQ

How is pricing calculated for studio rental?
Tags: pricing, billing
Pricing is based on hourly blocks with a minimum duration set by each studio. You’ll see a clear total before checkout, including add-ons (if any). Taxes and any refundable deposit are shown separately so you can understand what’s paid now vs. what’s held temporarily.
Tip
Use the filter: type “deposit” or “overtime”.
Transparency
No hidden checkout steps. If something looks off, ask — we’ll verify the listing.
Can I book same-day, last-minute sessions?
Tags: availability
Yes, if a studio’s calendar shows availability. Some studios require a short lead time (e.g., 2–6 hours) to prepare lighting, access codes, or staff. If you’re booking tight, message your preferred time window — we’ll suggest the fastest-confirm options.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Tags: policies, cancellation, billing
Each studio selects a policy (Flexible, Moderate, or Firm) shown before payment. In general, earlier cancellations refund more. If a studio can rebook your time, we’ll help you minimize loss when possible. For emergencies, submit details in the “Ask a question” form so we can review quickly.
Is gear included? Can I bring my own lights?
Tags: gear, policies
It depends on the listing. Some studios include a base kit; others offer add-ons. Bringing your own gear is usually allowed as long as it’s safe, doesn’t exceed power limits, and doesn’t damage floors/walls. If you need high-draw equipment, ask the host about circuit limits.
What happens if I’m running late?
Tags: policies, availability
Your booking window is reserved. If you arrive late, the end time typically stays the same (because another booking may follow). If the studio is free after your slot, you can request an extension; if approved, it’s billed as overtime at the displayed rate.
When do I get charged, and do you hold a deposit?
Tags: billing
Payment is collected at checkout. Some studios use a refundable security deposit (held temporarily) to cover damage or overages. If applied, the amount and timeline are shown before you confirm. If you don’t see it on your bank statement immediately, it may appear as a pending hold.
Can I shoot with fog, glitter, or confetti?
Tags: policies
These are often restricted due to cleanup, fire alarms, and HVAC. If allowed, you may need prior approval and a cleanup fee. Ask first to avoid losing setup time — we’ll tell you which studios are friendly to special effects.
Do studios allow pets or small animals on set?
Tags: availability, policies
Some do, many don’t. If the listing is silent, assume approval is required. For animal shoots, include the type of animal, handler details, and whether you need a quiet space or a holding area.
